The Teaching Kitchen at Lenox Hill Neighborhood House

The Teaching Kitchen® at Lenox Hill Neighborhood House is a groundbreaking training and technical assistance program that helps nonprofit organizations and schools with government-funded food services to serve more fresh, healthy and local food—without raising costs. Our Chef-Educators coach food services teams to implement more scratch cooking, local sourcing, plant-based dishes and other sustainable practices to bolster their clients’ health. To date, we have trained 700 administrators, chefs, nutritionists and other staff from 300 programs run by more than 100 organizations, impacting 31 million meals annually for New Yorkers who depend on those meals for food security and nutrition.
