Kids In Nutrition
Kids In Nutrition (KIN) is a nationwide student-led movement dedicated to enhancing food equity, promoting sustainable systems, and improving long-term health outcomes for youth and families through food literacy and access. Recognizing that lifelong habits develop early in life, KIN equips children with essential knowledge of nutrition and food systems—empowering them to make informed, sustainable food choices from a young age. It’s work centers on marginalized communities, where systemic barriers in education, healthcare, and food access contribute to disproportionate rates of chronic disease. Early food literacy is key to fostering lifelong healthy and sustainable dietary habits, laying the foundation for preventing chronic disease, advancing health equity, cultivating local and sustainable food systems. KIN doesn’t just teach kids how to make healthy choices. By delivering grassroots educational services that connect youth with youth nationwide, KIN is filling a critical gap in school education and empowering children, families, young leaders, and communities to recognize nutrition as a lifelong tool for health, equity, and joy.
