Mobilizing Healthcare for a Hunger-Free Massachusetts

This in-person event was organized with Congressman James McGovern (D-MA), the Massachusetts Public Health Association (MPHA), and its coalition, the Alliance for Community Health Integration (ACHI), and facilitated by Health Resources in Action. Speakers included Congressman Jim McGovern; UMass Memorial Health President and CEO Dr. Eric Dickson; Mass Medical Society past president Dr. Maryanne Tombaugh; Boston Medical Center CEO Kate Walsh; H2HC founder and GBFB CEO and President Catherine D’Amato; and Community Servings CEO David Waters. The event convened healthcare, government, and food access stakeholders to focus on whole person care, communities of practice, and innovation.

H2HC highlighted the ground-breaking research report, “2.4 Billion: The Avoidable Cost of Hunger in Massachusetts”, supported by H2HC and produced by Children’s HealthWatch and The Greater Boston Food Bank. H2HC announced a new grant program, Mobilizing Health Care, to advance partnerships between the healthcare industry and community-based organizations to create a hunger-free Massachusetts.
