H2HC Fall 2022 Summit – History of the White House Conference on Hunger, Nutrition, and Health
At the H2HC Fall Summit in November 2022, Dr. Dariush Mozaffarian, Dean of the Tufts Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy, presented on the history leading to the September 2022 White House Conference on Hunger, Nutrition, and Health.
The preceding conference on hunger took place more than 50 years ago and led to the creation of the Federal Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC), as well as a major expansion of both the Food Stamp Program (SNAP) and the School Lunch Program.
